https://www.furaffinity.net/user/eduartboudewijn/ asked: What's your favorite way to relax after a stressful day??
Gwae's response: "I find hobbies are a way to unwind. I’ve got a wee collection of coins meself. Didje know that humans assign values to bit of metal and trade them for things? Each of these is worth something different and everyone agrees on what that is! It’s really class! The most common system comes from Tours, over in Anjev, but many places mint their own coins. Counties, towns and even guilds can get permission to make their own coins! Typically, a gold Livre is worth 20 silver Sol, which are each worth 12 bronze Deniers. But the amount of precious metal in a coin may change the value, so some humans think some coins are worth more than others and try to hoard them (That’s closer to how we Fae trade...) I have coins from all over the Western Realms. My favourite is the Counterfeit Dreger Sol, also called a Dragon. The Count of Dreger says they are worthless, but the silver used actually makes them worth more than the real ones!
Author's Notes: Gwae is fascinated by the concept of currency and pridefully shows off her collection of coins, usually accompanied by a long-winded rattling off of facts and histories related to each. Much of the mortal world of Bedouar has begun to transition away from the barter economies to coinage, most recently the Livre Tournais, established in the economic powerhouse of Tours in the Duchy on Anjev. As Gwae points out, 1 Livre = 20 Sol or Sous, which in turn are each worth 12 deniers. For the most part, only deniers are minted in mass for everyday use. A skilled mason in Per-Ys, the Royal capital of the Kingdom of Gallia could earn about 8 Livres in a year, while a poor swineherd in the countryside could earn about 1.

While coins existed in the days of the Remusan Empire (Rome never rose in Bedouar), this coinage was a smattering of currencies minted by petty kingdoms, duchies and independent city-states, where a short journey could render one's coinage obsolete. The novelty of the coinage is more about its valuation and spread beyond a few population centers and industries into everyday life. The Livre Tournais is officially the coinage of the County of Tours, in the Duchy on Anjev, but is considered very stable. As such, the valuation of many locally minted coins (The Livre is not the Euro, each currency is still technically separate), is generally associated with the value of a coin from Tours, then adjusted for mineral content. This means that most of the Western Realms can exchange each others coins without too much hassle and prices are more stable. A coin from the far Western County of Kernev is worth generally the same amount as one from Tolosa far to the South.
I see. though rome is in itally well south east of france and Britany anyway though you would need to do something about remusan then in that case since that is the equivalent of rome or so.
though how the hell did tours within the dutchy of anjev pull off that stable value and standardization of value of all coins then if that is the place where all metals go to get printed in to coinage anyway. though more explination is needed.

The Ram of Kernev, the Dragon of Dreger and the Ermine of Gwened. These are the symbols of 3 of the 6 vassal-states of Breizh, a powerful Duchy that most of the story takes place in. The others are the Viscounty of Leon (Lion), the County of Naoned (Ship) and the County of Roazhon (Ermine Field (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blason_Rennes.svg)
