I may have the answer for you. As a marketing man I know the answer for this. Hes the so called "leader person". Witch the community in this case FA choses to it self. Why him? Can be a lot of thing. Mainly I think it because he's supported by the other "leader person on the site (either that hes a friend of them or can pretend that by commissioning them, and get they support in word and art), he's enough unique to be recognized fast and active enough to fulfill that role. If that is done the thing will accelerate and soon everyone will knew who is that guy. He's got in the heads of everyone so now. And you made some more advertisement to him to. :3
To tell, I personal also feel the same sometimes. But I can't change it. I certainly can't commissions round the great faces to get some advertisement on the site, nor there willing to support me... even my comrades doesn't except one, who is true friend for that. So that will be it in short.

Actually, it's just a whole lot of money, manners in asking artists to do his picture and the 'popularity' that followed from the forementioned combination. SecreT's presence is now like an every growing exponential. It's lulz.

"Pretty" would be all bows and frills and girly stuff. "Handsome" would be more plain and understated, but elegant and attractive.

Ok, just for the record, EVERYTHING almost that I said in this was rumor and speculation. I had no idea this was actually the running idea of Secret, as I've at best met him a handful of times, and NEVER judge people on rumor or hearsay.

That said, the reactions of Secret to this kinda hint at something underlying the rumors. Once again, I'm not gonna judge anything. To those who commented agreeing with me, whether in a direct 'in yo face!' or a 'just dropping a passing, scathing comment' way? You really need to get a hobby other than worrying about how other people spend their money perhaps.

To Secret himself, I say this. Stop caring so much about what people say; half the time they're just talking crap, and the other half, they're trying to get you to react just as you did. I have nothing against you, and I don't know you; I was simply commenting random things I had heard, trying to be mildly funny. Here's how it works in the fandom.

3. They say 'Ok, pay my fee and I'll draw it.'

5. Art is drawn.

Of late, people like this who have a lot of money to spend on expanding their exposure tend to find a lot of people who want their money more than willing to draw for them... not matter how overexposed they are. Kipfox, Nicobay, Secret... if they have money to shell out and do it enough times, other artists start hoping they will come to them next. I'd be willing to bet these people get slightly inflated pricing as well. Not because they're so exposed already, but simply because having commissioned so often, they put the image out of having a fuckton of money just for this, and don't mind spending it.

I've been seeing a lot of him, too. It's almost everyday. He's drawn by so many, and so many REALLY GREAT artists. These same questions gets me every time I see his art. Who is he? Why's he drawn all the time? What did/does he do that made him so popular?

What i want to know is why everyone seems to be complaining? What, does the furry community not have a current scapegoat or something???

i know, i saw this and was "OMG...the takeout cup is awesome! I wonder what secreTs drinking, lol." But then seeing the comments i kinda wanted to smack all the whiners. If someone has the money and wants the commissions, so what? I'd do something pretty damn similar if i had enough cash every month myself. Maybe i will when i'm a published author just to piss off the rest.....*contemplates*

i was tempted to put a pencil through the whiner's eyes or tell them to build a bridge and get over it. omg, you should so do that. i'd do it, but i'm never gonna have money (damn being a student, ah well)

Lol, i got lucky i had scholarships for college....or i'd be in the same boat as everyone else lol. But i probably will...my future hubs will probably be like "HUN....can you stop commissioning people??" "NO...i wanted to commission all these people when i couldn't and i can now...and 90% of it isn't porn!"

well i have a student loan, which here we don't have to start paying back until we start earning more than $1400 a year, but student allowance - rent - food = not much left over. hehe.. my boyfriend's working and is commissioning a few people. i see nothing wrong with commissioning people, it's always good and it makes the artist feel loved (well it makes me feel loved at any rate XD)

just seems like one of those mass commissioners out there that just loves art and commissioning it of their character. And considering allot of what ive seen pop up is pornographic, this means a higher interest and being seen in such a community XD
