Verace perked his ears as the news was broken.
“We regret to inform you all that an unfortunate glitch has suddenly surfaced while we were installing elements of the game’s latest expansion pack to our server. We are presently working hard to remedy this problem. However, due to the nature of the bug, players will be unable to log out of the game until repairs can be completed. We realize that this may be of significant inconvenience to some of you, but we are prepared to compensate you for your troubles. Until this problem can be resolved, customers can continue their games free of charge.”
Verace paused for a moment before faltering. "Well dang. That's just great." Thinking to himself "It seems weird to suddenly drop such an update on our heads, guys. Not to mention for it to lock us in!"
“Additionally, in order to help pass the time, we have decided to do a little something as a special reward for the players gathered here today. In two hours, we will begin the preliminary matches for a grand fighting tournament. Participants who make it past the prelims will be in for a real treat as we intend to hold the festivities on the brand new continent of Pylorus! Players who qualify will receive the exclusive opportunity to explore the new continent before anyone else in the game! Also, the winner will receive a super secret special prize for making it all the way to the victor’s circle! Remember, the preliminaries begin in two hours. The foxish sighed and stretched and closed up his HUD. "I hope this is worth the while.... Well, I suppose I better get ready for the preliminaries then. Here goes nothing."
