I take another step away from Walt Kelly redraws. This six-legged doglike creature, with a face that says he knows he's been caught at something, is from the Rootie Kazootie comic book from 1954. In issue 4 we get a story whe Rootie Kazootie shows off creatures from the Zany Zoo, including this Geg. See page 19 of the 36 at https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=22815
Rootie Kazootie is a character I don't know a thing about. I guess he was the star of an early 50s puppet show aimed at kids. Also I think I have vague memories of my dad using the words ``Rootie Kazootie'' as part of doing that thing where people talk about the weird pop culture of their youth that haunts their long-term memory. I just started looking over the comic book because I was hanging out in public-domain comic book corners of the Internet and, y'know, that dog-like creature has some interesting features. It's a pretty fun draw.
