Most decision making went into whether she should still be a dragon or not. The world Heartbeat takes place in is meant to be basically just this world with anthro species instead of humans. So it was a little weird to me to have all the characters be based off real life animals and then Serena was a dragon. Though dragons are a really popular species in the furry community so I decided to keep it. I would think “dragons” in this world would be hybrids of multiple species that somehow stabilised into a new species which were called “dragons”. So she also has no wings to fit in with that (granted there are some reptiles like the flying lizards with wings but they're a bit more like a bat than a dragon).

Serena is also meant to be canonically breathakingly gorgeous, just she has a very dead expression a lot of the time & a cold and harsh personality. I’m not quite good enough to properly make her as pretty as she should be but hey, that’s what practice is for!
