I take my first break from redraws of Walt Kelly pictures! It's  Zukaro Travon's beepday the 5th, so someone went and gave him a hammock! Learning how to use one is tricky for the wax fox, but he's trying his best.

Though this isn't anything like a Pogo panel you can see how I'm using stuff I've learned the past month of doing these drawings in it. The tree shapes, particularly, are so imitative that they might as well be taken from a Pogo strip, as is the vaguely defined background of grass and small hill. The hammock could be a bit better-defined, but at my skill level, too many lines is very bad. I might have made a better hammock with one-third fewer lines.

It is a hecking big challenge to render intelligibly ``wax creature that's partly melted through a mesh of fibers''. I'd probably have made it easier for myself if I added color, so that the different shapes would have a chance of reading cleanly. But what's the point of exercising if you don't sometimes push far enough you might sprain yourself?
