A Long Time Ago, In a Galaxy Far Far Away...
Katt Biska never really "fit" with the Jedi Order, constantly picking fights and questioning the authority of the traditions, the Council and her perpetually frustrated Master. The outbreak of the Clone Wars was the only thing preventing her from getting kicked out earlier, as the Republic was desperate for any assistance. Late in the conflict, newly minted Padawan Katt was placed along a remote Hyperspace route deep in the Outer Rim. After a Seperatist attack on a refugee convoy, Katt broke off from her Master with a small platoon, in defiance of orders, launching a brutal reprisal against Seperatist forces. The event led to her court-martial and expulsion from the Jedi. When Order 66 came down, the fallen Jedi was far away from the action, drinking in a bar on the icy moon of Naos III. The initial purge by the frenzied Clone Troopers missed her in the chaos, but the bounty hunters and assassins that followed to clean up did not. After a running gunfight, Katt detonated her ship and was declared dead, purged from the records as another casualty. But she did not die, instead continuing to work as a smuggler and bounty hunter on the Fringes of Wild Space...
I am a big Star Wars Fan, and wanted to do something special for May the 4th. Kathalia is a great fit for the Alternate Universe treatment here, since both Kroashent's "Black Crown Affair" and Star Wars' "Order 66" are both directly inspired by the 1307 purge of the Knights Templar. Kathalia's backstory dovetails nicely into Star Wars Canon as a result, so I thought it would be fun to adapt her to that Universe.
