In the PokeHeroes Universe, Penelope is a Persian who had their soul removed during a fight with a ghost type. Nightshade is a Gengar that decided to give her life again, using his own essence to animate her once more. She's able to move about and think of her own accord, but the Gengar's soul influences her in subtle ways that neither of them can really control.

Madame Lumiere is a Litwik who transforms her victims into waxy slaves, their souls burning away. Nightshade doesn't take kindly to that. And so, he and Penelope together move to confront Madame Lumiere...
