originally I never understood scaled and membrane Saphira because I had never gotten the chance to read the books but now that I've started reading them I love book Saphira more than movie Saphira by a long shot
She's really grown on me but her scales are a pain to do xD

A piece like this would be a fullbody shaded (1 character) + background ^^
honestly though, if someone wants me to draw scales I'll do it because I do want to practice them more so I can get comfortable drawing them,, but they'd need to let me know that their character has scales, since sometimes I cant tell if their character has scales and the artist was too lazy to draw them (like me most of the time) or if they just have skin/small scales that are not prominent

ah, you see I saw the movie first, many years ago, and never got past the first few chapters of the first book. Now that I'm actually reading the books I prefer OG book Saphira but that doesn't change that my first idea of Saphira came from the movie :,D honestly I wish the movie stayed true to the book and her design followed the book. I like feathers on dragons but it just seems wrong to take a character who is supposed to be one thing and completely change them in the movie,, it doesn't make much sense to me but what can we do :T
not much unfortunately except hope they remake it and when they do they don't leave out as much ^^ Sadly I don't have a chance to actually pick up the book anymore but I do have the full set of audio books and they are one of my go to books to listen to :3 glad you are enjoying them so far :D
Yet again, you just captured what I imagined what she looks like in the books, removing her antenna on her head like on the cover for beautiful ivory horns, such a beauty. Well done. Though I feel the horn below her main one feels a little out of place, but that is just me, you did an amazing job on her.
