I did work at a locksmith's for a few days, didn't work out, but I learned a lot.
Among that, that the boss there considered an old lock that would give him trouble to be 12th century or earlier and so on.
Customer: "I want a secure lock."
Boss: "How secure?"
Customer: "So secure that you can't open it."
Boss: "You can't afford that."
And I know he wasn't boasting. A lock that he can't get open would run in the thousands. In all probability, it would be more expensive than the valuables in a normal household.
In an old building they found a forgotten safety vault. On his website are some steps how he cracked it.

Lock-Picking Lawyer is one of my favorite YouTubers. He's very good at finding crappy locks. One of his recent videos, and one of the comments, told me that the wave rake is reserved for only the worst. XD So when Levi took one out...
Might have to learn it someday, if only for emergency cases. I've been locked out of my apartment before!
