More of that precious adorable kangaroo from the trip Pogo made to Australia in 1956. When Pogo denied that he was Mouse's mother, she decided to adopt the poor orphaned joey, whether Mouse wanted it or not. I'm pretty sure this is a foundational sequence in furry kangaroo culture. I fiddled a bit more with the brushes to make this and am even happier with the tapering of the lines. ... I am not at all sure what the kangaroo's declaration to ``drop the bundle'' means; it's possible it's an allusion that makes sense in 1956 or to some bit of Australian literature that Kelly was slipping in. Anyway this marks a new high-water-mark for this project in putting in word balloons. Also, it had my first serious drawing-on-the-wrong-layer incident, as I initially lettered Mouse's protest on the same layer as my lettering guides.
