Migratory Wood Ducks atop a faux beaver dam at the Minnesota zoo. Unlike the other residents, the ducks are free to come and go as they please, and thus are not permanent residents. But if you were a duck, and knew of a place where the water stayed open 365 days a year and you were fed, wouldn't you stay around too? 99% of the time the Beaver exhibit is really the unplanned duck exhibit at the MN zoo. The ducks come and eat all the food left out for the beavers. They just hide in their den all day.
