Honestly this comment, in my opinion, is extremely rude.
I know you may not have meant it that way, but please keep in mind that if the artist wanted help with the image they would have simply asked.

They way they did it might also have been the way they wanted to do it. Throwing up a "Mind if i redline it" is rude as it can upset the artist that tried their hardest on the commission.
