When it comes to my descent into the madness that is Pokemorphs, an old Disney saying quickly comes to mind: "It all started with a mouse". Or in this case, an Electric Mouse; Long the Pikachu is indeed one of the first 'morphs I ever created, dating as far back as when I was still in the 5-6th grade (give or take). He was part of a short series of 'morphs battling one another in martial arts competitions that fused the strength and beauty of the human body with the crazy special attacks unique to all Pocket Monsters. There was even a more elaborate story behind that at one point, something about pit fighting and how Pokeball-inspired bracelets being what forced the Pokemon to compete with one another...which has sadly faded from memory overtime, though the 'Ball-braces still pop up now and again in some sketches.
Long here, sadly, never really amounted to much story-wise. He traveled around challenging whoever crossed his path and was strangely fond of relying on strength and speed instead of just electric attacks. His reasons, much like the original origin for my own set of Pokemorphs, have been lost to time.
...before I forget, blame
ebonyleopard for inspiring me to draw this guy again. Pic's no show-stopper, but it IS one of the first real pics I've done in OC in a while (not counting photoshop touchups like background and lightning effects).

Wow, nice one! Pikachu is looking more masculine than ever. I'm not very familiar with such pokmorphs, but he makes me wanna see more. =)
With a humanoid body it would seem that the pokmon creatures can actually choose their own fights, unless they are somehow chained to a pok ball - something that would be rather ... uh, inhumane as usual, but now somehow even more so.

Thanks! I have no idea where the Pikachu=femmy mentality came from (cutesy girly merchandise aside) and certainly didn't know it existed back then, so that explains that. Of course, I do have two Pika-girls hanging around in the woodwork that I don't show people much of - one was at one point this guy's sister and the other's what's called a Surfing Pikachu (who I have sketches of somewhere on FA but am too lazy to look up), unrelated to the two.
And yeah, the whole "when you're this human, do you really need a Trainer?" question is what has most perplexed me about designing a Pokemorph origin story. You can go with "alternate world with no humans and just 'morphs", but some species lose a lot of what defines them when given the anthro treatment, not to mention there would be facts about them that would be made useless by removing humans. Making worlds WITH humans, however, brings up the controversy of humans coexisting with being far stronger and/or smarter than they are...yeeeah. Pretty much what you said, about the 'even more inhumane' thing.
And now you know why I try not to think to hard when designing most characters! :D

Yeah, I too am not sure why folks view all pikachu's as soft cuddly critters, when they're really well, bastards. That's why I like the first episode of pokemon the best, because pikachu was constantly trying to KILL Ash, and had a very snarly attitude, which is how I personally view how pikachus would act naturally, minus the human influence.
Hmm, Stunner may have to challenge this guy.

Yeah, exactly! I also like how in most of the manga origins on how Ash/Red meets Pikachu, it's never on nice terms: in one, he was chewing away at the electric cables in his house (and was seen as vermin). In another, the Pikachu was a out and out troublemaker, stealing food and being an all-around nuisance.
It's like Pikachu are...well..._bastards_. Funny that. No wonder no one typically gets them as a Starter.
Ha! Long will gladly accept any and all challengers (and doesn't pull punches for anyone)!
