So I wanted to try drawing a more dynamic yinglet pose.
Also tried making a more personal little OC, so here's Zomnia! I gave her an aspect of myself I think has shaped a lot of my life: a constant and difficult struggle to just goshdang sleep like a normal person.
So Zomnia here has a terribly hard time sleeping normally, and her sleeping schedule ends up being something like a single 3-4 hour period at an almost completely random time every 24 hours. This is too little and way too irregular even for a yinglet, leaving her always exhausted and a bit loopy.
Her matriarch, in an attempt to prevent Zomnia's unfortunate condition from spreading into the enclave, only matches her with the heaviest and most prolific sleepers among the males. This naturally means she sees a lot less action than her fellow females, making her feel inferior and unworthy, as well as a bit more shy in the bedroom due to sheer inexperience.
The frustrations caused by the many problems in her life are most often (and unfortunately) channeled into being somewhat of a jerk, namely in her propensity to adorn herself in as many jingly and jangly bits to ensure her every movement is accompanied by enough noise to wake anyone else up. For this reason it is forbidden to give her any gifts that would add to her ambient cacophony. Thankfully she's usually able to restrain herself. Usually.
She does try to be useful to the enclave in her overabundant waking hours, with things such as common chores and trying to help with any task she sees. Her tired and unfocused mind only allows her to be so helpful, however, and she often ends up doing more harm than good.
(Un)surprisingly enough, her lifelong battle with insomnia has made her the most knowledgeable sleep expert her enclave has ever seen, and she often provides very helpful tips, tricks and solutions to her fellow yinglet's sleep problems despite her frustration about none of those solutions working for herself.
And also I decided to use
Welcometaco's adorable yinglet base because something something gift horse and all that.
As usual, thanks go to
Valsalia for creating these cute little ratbird bastards.
