Gallows frequently has urges to dominate other furs and bring them under his paw, strangley enough this is as close as he gets to family for most people. Being under the otter isn't that rough, he wants his property to be healthy and look good... your not his crew, but its a group that he looks out for.
The picture in particular just seemed to come out well, fairly simple but well put together IMHO
