Mason the Football Player 😠 (Bio and Backstory)
Hey all, for those of you who can't remember what Junior the Big Baby Clown looks like without his makeup, this is it! Well, it used to be anyway. This was his first-ever design, also done by the talented thecushytushydeer before I decided to change his hair to a mohawk instead. Anywho, below is an in-depth look into the tragic past of Mason before he became Junior the Big Baby Clown!
Mason
Mason is the identity of Junior the Clown before being forced to join the Clown College at Coastline College in order to get back on the football team. Mason is in fact his last name, as he doesn't like to mention his first name to anyone. In many ways, Mason’s identity is just as much of a ‘character’ he is playing, with his true nature seemingly buried deep within himself.
Mason had a rough start in life, with his mother not knowing who his biological father was and herself being a drug addict. Thankfully she was in a rehab center when pregnant with Mason, but she died soon after giving birth to him due to the ravages the drugs had done on her body.
Mason entered the custody of his mother’s brother, a man who also suffered from the same addictions that had plagued his sister. Although he took Mason in, he was horrifically neglectful due to a combination of his drug addiction making him barely able to care for himself, much less a small child, and the fact that he secretly blamed Mason for his sister’s death.
Mason’s earliest years were spent within his uncle’s home in a trailer park, where an elderly couple took pity on the poor boy, by providing him with food and clothing, although they didn’t think it was their place to remove Mason from his uncle’s custody.
Once Mason turned twelve, his life took a sharp turn when the husband of the elderly couple died and soon the wife succumbed to dementia. Mason’s only support system in the world was gone and he then saw men in an ambulance taking the old woman away. When he begged her not to leave her condition caused her to no longer recognize him.
Something within Mason broke that day and he was never the same afterwards. Mason soon found a job a loading dock by the piers, in order to try to make a meager earning for himself in order to pay for bare essentials. Due to being tall for the age of twelve, he lied and said he was sixteen in order to get a job carrying freight.
Unfortunately, some of his coworkers soon learned that he was underage, and blackmailed Mason into ‘helping’ them during their respective shifts. Mason bore this additional burden quietly and soon built up an impressive physique by the time he was in high school.
Mason was able to enter high school despite him giving barely any attention to his schoolwork due to coming from a very low-income area, where if a student showed a basic level of aptitude they were passed onto the next grade. This ended up being Mason’s first true stroke of great fortune, as the football coach of the school noticed the musculature Mason had developed from working on the docks.
After giving the boy a football, Mason proved to be a beast on the field, charging ahead with a ferocity that could not be tamed. This event caused a change to occur within Mason, as he finally found a something that brought him glory and elevated him above needing to perform grueling labor in order to survive.
Thus, Mason’s new goal in life became to be a star football player in the major leagues and then retire away from the world in wealth and isolation. The coach was all to eager to assist Mason with his goal of entering the big leagues, as it would bring prestige to the school’s team, and he directed Mason to Coastline College upon graduating.
Coastline was a college with a not so secret reputation of funneling their student athletes to major league sports team by padding their grades. However, Mason’s lifelong disregard for his academics could no longer be tolerated at Coastline, and he was soon kicked off of the football team.
The dean then decided to give Mason the choice of entering the school’s new Clown College program as its first trial student in order to get back on the football team. With his football dream being one of the few things he had ever truly cared about in his life, Mason joined without hesitation.
However, upon having to take on the identity of Junior the Big Baby Clown, Mason was not prepared for how embarrassing his time in Clown College would be, since he actually has to ‘stay in character’ as a big baby at all times, meaning he must wear diapers, eat from a high chair, drink from baby bottles, and wear babyish clothes.
Even more shockingly, Mason was unprepared for finding himself actually enjoying his time at Clown College by learning how to be silly and have fun, two things denied to him during his rough childhood. He was also not ready to find his two teachers, Pop-Pop the Clown, and his wife, Mamie the Clown, becoming the parental figures he never had but had desperately needed.
Mason finds himself questioning everything about his life up to that point, and suddenly the things that once seemed so important to him no longer seem to matter. Even his very identity comes into question as he finds himself wondering if he would rather return to the potential glory and wealth life as a top-tier football player could offer, or if he possibly find true happiness as Junior the Big Baby Clown.
