The Old Mail Duck, relaxing, while one of the Cowbirds reads a letter from the Pig. It was a coded message, of course, and futile, as all the messages given the Cowbirds were. There's stuff I like here, such as the hatching on the Cowbird's jacket. And a good bit of the Mail Duck being pudgy. I completely whiffed on the Cowbird's beret, but in the original panel Walt Kelly kind of did, too. The Cowbird's beak looks all weird, because I put his head a little too far from the paper, so stuff that was hidden in the original is visible here. On the bright side, that paper curls really nicely.
