Heroes confuse Vurga. He understands people who are lawful. Society provides protection for the weak and scared. Heroes are different. Heroes want to fight the forces of evil, not for profit or their home, but just because it's 'right'. Strangely enough, most seem to believe that bad things are not only wrong, but doomed to be defeated.
Vurga, being a pirate, doesn't believe that's the way of the world. If you look at nature, the 'good' animal isn't the one who survives. It's the hunter, the one who's strong enough to take what it wants. If anything, the actual way of the world is 'if you can take it, it's yours'. Society's just a big pack formed of the prey for safety in numbers.
It's always confusing to meet a hero. Most hear of his operation and expect it to be some ramshackle, amateur operation. Then they stumble into a heavily fortified compound with military grade arms and are promptly whomped unconscious by a giant Lopp.
Once they wake up, Vurga likes to talk to them. It's always fun to meet someone who lives a different way. It's rarely a pleasant conversation though. Despite their situation, most see him as scum and treat him accordingly. Even though there's no hope of winning, their pride won't let them accept how hopeless it is. After all, they can't lose. They're heroes.
...It's alright though. In time, they'll see how silly it all is. That heroic pride makes them wiggle delightfully on the way down. Strong as their bodies are, they digest all the same and no matter how 'righteous' their souls are, they never escape the prison of Lopp gut. They'll have an eternity to see life through the eyes of their enemy, squishy little passengers on his midsection. Of course, even if they learn their lesson, they won't be coming back out. No one does. They'll just have to come around to living life as part of a villain. They don't have much of a choice.
But in a way, they are still heroes. They defeated the Lopp's hunger, at least for a while.
