Yes I am! :P Haven't been able to do much arting for the last few weeks though, first because of the flu I had (which was a horrible hanger-on), and then because of the increasingly pressing need to upgrade my computer situation. This is the last thing I drew on my old computer, it was lagging anytime I tried working on something big and detailed (which, as it turns out, is pretty much all of my work once it gets past the sketch stage :P). Feels kind of appropriate for the weird time we're all living through right now, too! Our dog has no idea how spoilt he is, having BOTH of us home all the time now!
I finally found a used-computer store that was open and got myself a refurbished iMac this weekend, so stoked to get arting again! Just gotta get all my Photoshop and tablet settings worked out, move my files over... and take the opportunity to do a spring-cleaning/ completely re-arrange the living room, because now that it's also functioning as a dual office, space management is kind of crucial >_<
How are you guys doing with all the stay-at-home orders and social distancing stuff? Anyone living somewhere on full lockdown? And if so, I've been dying to know... how do you walk your dogs?? I have this vision of everyone just opening their doors in the morning and letting their dogs out to go roam wild through a city that's totally devoid of humans and cars, living semi-feral lives while their humans watch jealously from inside their homes...
PS. The picture is a Croods tribute, kudos if you got it cuz it didn't come across as clearly as I'd hoped lol. I love love love the environment and creature design in that movie though ^_^

as for how i'm doing during all this: 1. working for amazon sucks and 2. been trying not to go stir crazy myself, what with university, art and gaming taking the brunt of my time.
and i make boxes, i'm considered essential XD
My job has always been stay-at-home (translating from my home office), so thankfully I still have work, but I'm going a bit stir-crazy from not being able to go out and do other regular things. Hoping I'll be able to channel some of that into art again soon, when I've got some of my home repairs out of the way.
Myself and dad are pretty much stay-at-home, so it's not too bad.
The in-laws have the dogs in a roomy fencing outside, so they're let out occasionally . Many other owners let their dogs roam here, being close to out in the country
But that's IRL me. My fursona, somewhat irrationally, keeps getting shaggier and shaggier lol.
oy, evolution of fluff. :)
Best of luck with the technological part! The tools of the trade might be a convenience compared to traditional but even so it's SUCH a pain when these toasters don't work quite right or can't keep up. Bleghk!
I'm supposed to be working from home, myself, as my partner is. But I was sent home without an access to the office network, and five weeks later, still am waiting. Maybe this week, they said. I'm paid, but it's added to the stress of anxiety and depression. Still, we got a kitty!
Not quite a lockdown here, we can still walk around, or walk through parks. The weather has "cooperated" by beanr near or under freezing every night (it snowed a few nights ago, augh) and highs barely reaching 10. Taking a walk is just not fun in cold wind.
Hey, I remember watching the Croods (while someone streamed) and finding it much more clever than I thought it would be. The designs were really nice, too. And it fits you. :)
Hope you can art again soon!
Yay for your mild weather, though I expect it's also wetter than ours. If I go grocery shopping in the morning or near closing time, the lines are usually absent. But I feel back when I was a kid, when stores DID close at 8pm - if even that late!
Heh, I had just sent you an email checking how you were doing, guess I have my answer. :) And psst, you can peek at the kitty here. She's a cutie.
This was a triumph
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
*hugs* welcome back.
Hardest thing for me was to live thru the panic field, when everyone were rushing to their stuffed cars, with full bags of toilet paper, ready to sprint for county line, like the bombs are on their way..
Now it's just another week of gray, empty and (almost) noiseless city, which is odd, but satisfying.
I've been out of work until this week, since teaching piano usually requires being present. I finally bit the bullet and started remote lessons via Skype, and while it's certainly not the same, it still kinda works. The landlady said I wasn't allowed to visit my mum & brother's house under any circumstances, despite me having scarcely any contact with the landlady, her daughter, or the other tenants, and I followed that for two weeks, but after a nasty depressive episode last week I've started visiting again, but wearing a mask and gloves throughout.
These are maddening times, and I just hope the, uh, capability-challenged leaders of certain major countries don't damn us to a second wave. Still, if such a fate does befall us, then we'll at least have practice handling the situation from weathering the first wave, and we'll be that much closer to having a vaccine.
Give the doggo a hug for me, or at least a pet!
I work in TV so they call me essential, still schlepping in 9pm-5am, hurts to be me but I now enter the station down a one-way corridor like Maxwell Smart.
Stay safe. Do good work. =^^=
Stay healthy in all senses, stay cool, looking forward to seeing more of your art and (duh) more weasels pls :p
We've got stay at home orders here in PA, but you'd never know it by the number of cars going around. I'm an essential worker so I split my time between being onsite and telework, but my wife cannot do any work and my daughter is home from school for the rest of 1st grade. Been very crazy; my daughter loves having me home more, but my wife is exploding to get back out again. We're starting to open up in parts of the state this month; I expect we'll be opening back up at the end. But we'll see.
Dominus tecum
I'm glad you made it through these crazy couple years!
