I decided to use X bracing with has bee proven to be the most effective at providing strength and tone. Hopefully this will make the guitar a bit more balanced acoustically than otherwise. As you can see the neck is bolted on which will make it cheaper to work on should it ever need it and provide more than enough strength and stability to hopefully make future repairs unnecessary. The block of wood on the lower bout is to provide reinforcement for the output jack that will be installed there as well as the strings which will be strung through the body to improve tone.
The little smudge on the underside of the top was from me testing out the stain that I used on the rest of the body.

i would be nervous about two things. not being a pro such as yourself, only an amateur instrument builder, i'm not sure how stupid i will sound;
the neck mounting looks somewhat sketchy... but hey, i'm not holding it. can be hard to tell.
the hinged design might rattle if not very snug. maybe not, again, i'm not holding it. cant tell from this side of the picture. maybe its more apparent on your end?
those are all my concerns. i would love to hear it when its done.

It turned out that the box actually needed to be reinforced. The neck mounting would have been plenty had it gone down to and mounted to both the top and bottom. I just put some parallel arch-top style braces in to help and glued in some oak planks to the inside of the upper bout to make sure nothing moved. The hing makes no noise:) Its actually a pretty well built box.
