I suppose it's a case of Luis/T-Red thinking that another ten minutes won't hurt or that he just needs to beat this one level or boss or he's got to a certain point in the game and he gets caught up in it and before he realises it a few hours have gone by and despite his best intentions it ends up happening more often than not.
Sleeping he does look rather adorable so hopefully no-one will disturb him and he can catch up with the sleep he's missed out on.
