this is a weapon i designed for ashleigh. he is king of the demine and uses this to channel his mana into projectile ammunition.

i sorta have it drawn. but not to detailed. It uses sheel precharded with mana, but the shell convert the mana into special attacks. Some for concussion others for ice and fire. one is even and anti gravity point. but once a shell is used it take time to recharge them
so it is a lot more like the caster from, "outlaw star"? i thought about doing a shell design as well as making rune bullets, but i didn't think that would fit the oc it was for. ^^;
i would not call my design necessarily better either. yours has the potential to be used by those who have no magic of there own. that makes it a lot more versatile. ^^

what i was getting at is both designs do things the other can't. ^^ both have strengths and weaknesses. for example: well your weapon can be used as a last ditch effort to make the kill, mine relies completely on the users energy. the weaker they get, the less energy they can put into the weapon.
it's all about looking at the ways to use a tool given to you. so much applies beyond first glance. ^^ then again, this comes from years role play with little money and a lot of ingenuous player. XD a lot of the time i would have to really think about things because i ran a lot of those games.

ahhh, okay. ^^ i thought that at first, but i've never known many to worry about things as detailed as ammunition in im rp. than again, i only rp with one person non-sexually that i can think of. it's the reason i don't rp that much any more. ^^;

i know what it's like to some extent. ^^; i've lived in those area's before, but mostly it is the lack of players i knew best. T^T the few who i know that play are not people i want to play with. some because they won't play half the time, others because i don't like how they play. over all, it can be hard to find.
on the other hand. you can play such games via messenger too. ^^ you juts have to do it with people you trust to be honest about what they rolled. i know the a few people and would love to do it myself, but i just don't have the time anymore.
maybe some day we can get together and be part of an only version.

you can find most of the books online as pdf's (adobe files) and that's a good starting point. ^^ the games are in your head for the most part. the books tell you how to write up the statistics of your characters and give a system of rules. after that it is up to two people how the games works.
the game master/dungeon master: builds a world, an adventure setting, and a few enemies. he also plays god as well as any of the non player characters. basically, the game master is the ultimate narrator for the world. ^^ (it is a lot of work, but can be tuns of fun for writers XD )
the players: though your GM (game master) may set limits past the basic rules, the world is yours to do what you want in. the GM tells you how the world interacts with you, but you control the person as if it where the oc you design for the setting. ^^
i love the "hero" gaming system most myself. everything can be played with one book and their is only one thing i have ever thought of you couldn't make a power in the system. <3 i dare you to come up with something i can't build in it. XD (this is a challenge i like to play, it's tests my creative abilities. :) )
