I finally get to submit these heeereee! SO HAPPY! I was waiting since the first day I joined FA to post these- and now I can!
I did these this year for Valentine's day- but was so busy I didn't get to finish them until the end of the Feb. But that doesn't mean they are any less adorable and horribly punny! XD
Probably my favorite Romance Movie story/trilogy ever- Underworld.
I don't care about how many people criticized the film, didn't think the werewolves "looked good" or whatever- these movies were VERY intelligent, demanded that the audience know some European History (specifically the Eastern European) as well as Greek mythology, and had so many well put together symbolic scenes that it was the kind of movie that made me yearn to do something like it.
It was also the first time where the female heroine was ACTUALLY a heroine- not the kind of “hero” who is the main character but still cares about her shoes and pretty in pink sparkles. Selene acts and thinks like a mercenary woman- and even her romance with Michael isn’t over-done in the “girly” sense. Michael is the kind of man I'm very attracted to- the socially awkward, celibate and intelligent.. not so much muscle and he is brain, and his courage manifests for the sake of protection of his own relations. By far, the first movie in my LIFE that I could relate to the female heroine in it.
This also was the first time in the 27 years history of my life I actually acquired a FEMALE role model- because Selene is WORTHY of that title.
So onto Valentine’s day- a holiday I am fond of. Regardless that people spout that it’s commercial- and maybe it is- I’d rather have a commercial holiday that makes you LOVE your family and friends than hate them. Heaven forbid someone asks you to be nice and thoughtful to another human being for the day- oh the horror worth criticizing and venomously attacking [/sarcasm].
But also my idea of “Romance” isn’t in the “pretty and pink Girly” kind… so imagine the merge of my cute and cuddly with my love for werewolves, beasts, and warring arts? Well, you get these.
About the Valentine- Love's Bitch
The first [Gore-geous] and this last Valentine are my favs. Obviously becuase the pairing is my favorite, but also the dynamic chemistry that these tow have between them.
All through the movie, Michale is the "Girlfriend". He's the one screaming his head off, wondering what the hell is going on, and running around frantically like a lost puppy dog. Selene is the one telling him to shut up, firing off the guns, and beating the crap out of the large animals attacking.
To me, this is perfect.
When I saw the second movie [evolution] I was tickled jolly about the whole movie. Between the reference to twins (like my and my sister), and finally having Michael and Selene consummate their relationship- I was on cloud nine.
Thing is, I was also watching the movie when I had the flu and a fever of 38 C.. so when Michael "died" I started crying, and nearly turned the movie off. it's a good thing I decided to hang in there and stick it through- becuase I think my own body forgot how sick it was when Michael came back to life. I was screaming "PUPPYYYYY!!!" for so long, that the neighbor asked me if we got a new puppy during that course of the week. I simply told him that someone had brought one over (wasn't going to explain that one).
Michael is clearly the "dog" type. Clearly, doesn't seem to mind being on Selene's leash at all times, or take her orders when things get rough [ruff!].
My kind of man!
Oh, and during the love-making scene, I thought it was hilarious when I barked out [with a Scooby-doo voice] "I ROVE RU, RE-REENE!"
What do you want? I had a fever of 38 C!!!

Thank you so much! You have no idea how touched and thankful I am that you said that- very few people actually support one another in their convictions- even if they are somewhat prude [like mine] or open and free [like some of my friends]. I am just thankful that you are such the evolved person, and that you posted! Thank you sooo much!
