Redraw of the moment in Walt Kelly's Pogo in which Mouse recognized his old friend Snavely, who was (among other things) training this worm in the art of being a rattler snake. It turns out this would probably have been better-composed if drawn landscape format, but maybe in a future image. I do like how the lines are looking now, though; it took a little time to experiment is all. So for now I think the thing I most messed up with is the eyes, which are too big for the heads presented. This is probably why the worm looks best of any of these. Using a sine wave for Snavely's belly scales was Walt Kelly's idea, but it was so very soothing to draw.
