Originally posted to my old account in April of 2015, I saw DreamWorks Animation SKG's "Home" and loved it! I bought the soundtrack and Rihanna's song "Towards the Sun" just truly inspired me. I've been through a LOT in my life, many things no one should ever have to go through and I've always found myself having to simply push aside the darkness that would drown most people... The phoenix has always felt like the perfect symbol for me and as I listened to Rihanna's song I just felt like it was speaking to me. It inspired me, so I couldn't help but doodle this! No, this is NOT meant to be perfect; the phoenix is still forming from the flames. I might scrap this later, but I wanted to share it with anyone else who might draw inspiration from these amazing lyrics:
