Amongst The Audience, few figures are as shrouded in mystery as The Newscaster, nor is her title one thrown around lightly.

The Newscaster primarily reaches out via Static-based broadcast jacking that only her chosen "Patriot" can percieve, and the beginning and ending segments of which are the only ones' that can be remembered. The broadcast usually opens with a jingle, after which she begins a speech, hinting at the task the Patriot is to complete using rhetoric often described as "Nationalistic", after which the viewer blacks out.

What occurs in middle of the show is unknown, but whether the Patriot succeeded or not can be determined by whether or not she keeps returning.

In the event of success, the viewer regains conciousness and, as the familiar jingle plays, they are given personally tailored life advice by the Caster, after which she bids them "Thank You." and normal programming resumes, the entity never visiting the person for as long as they live.

What occurs in the "Mid" segments is a subject of much speculation among Viewers, as even other, more knowledgeable entities of The Static seem confused when asked about her. Some speculate she is capable of outright time travel, something impossible even with Statech constructs, while others speculate her to be a rapid-functioning "Manchurian Agent" routine, though this leaves the question of the subjects waking up undisturbed and unharmed after each attempt, successful or not. The answer is unlikely to come any time soon.
