tipped me off to SAI, and I have to say, I'm definitely impressed. Did a doodle of the still-evolving character design of Faren, one of the two Scorch Sisters. I like how the inking tools work in SAI, and the traditional media emulation isnt half bad either. I did cheat and take it into GIMP for a little bit of color sweetening and such. Her eyes are a bit wonky, which is a bit frustrating but whatev.

It was almost all done with the paintbrush tool in SAI, which does a good job blending colors together and giving a semi-realistic "brush" behavior. I did most of the coloring work such as base tones and basic shading in SAI and then brought it into GIMP and used a overlay layer to punch up the highlighted areas and give the overall picture a more traditional media feel.
I guess someday I should sit down and try to knock out some tutorials, just never felt confident enough in my abilities to feel like I had anything worthwhile to contribute.
