Basically it is, Baking and cooking is one of the finest forms of art.
I made some meat pasties very first time on my own and Boy are they good!
Made one with strawberry jelly to try out and it was tasty too. you should try it.
My husband liked it. at least he said they were good. I'm happy with that.
Easy recipie and it's made in oven instead of deep frying. Little more healthier, even you need some butter anyway.
They;re NOT greasy. and the bread is sooo soft.
Love em!
Dough: makes 18-20pcs
5dl milk
0.5dl sugar
1tsp salt (tsp is teaspoon right)
2 bags of fast acting dry yeast (Bakers corner has 7g per bag)
13dl of all purpose flours
100g melted butter
filling:
500g ground beef or what meat you prefer
1 big onion (can be more if wanted)
2-3dl boiled rice (preferably porridge like, but normal long grain is ok too)
(boiled and finely chopped egg is optional)
seasoning; salt, pepper, paprika... etc etc what you wanna use on your meat (the beef on a pan..xD)
1 egg yolk to seal the edges.
melt some butter to brush the pasties after you get them out from the oven.
1. Heat milk on the right temperature for the yeast to work. Add in sugar and salt, let dissolve for a bit. mix the yeast in little amount of flours add in the milk mix. stir until smooth. Slowly add more flours. mix it until it's firm and hardly sticks on your fingers anymore. mix in the melted 100g of butter and leave the dough sit in warm place, covered, for 30 min to 1 hour.
2. Make the filling. fry meat and onion, drain the excess fat and mix in rice, and eggs if wanted. add more seasoning if needed.
3. divide the dough in 18-20 pieces and use rollingpin to make oval shapes, Put filling in the one side of it and use egg on the other edge to seal it up. Bring the empty half over the filling all the way to the dough and press firmly to close. (i used fork)
4. place 6 at times in oven tray and bake in 425F , in middle, for 15-20 minutes. depending how brown you want them to be.
Spread butter with a baking brush on top of them right after you get them off from the oven. let them settle for few minutes. Covered if you wanna really soft.
Enjoy with relish, mustard, ketchup or what ever side you want.
You can freeze extras and thaw them when you wanna have some other day.
If you try this recipe. let me know what do you think of it.

thank you. they could've been prettier, but hey,, taste is the one that matters.
You can keep them in the oven longer if you wanna darker color. but they will be done in 15 if you are afraid of getting the bottom burned.
Those with 3 lines are filled with the filling and cheese.
I love cooking in general. I have sooo many recipes. One of the best I love is lilttle sweet cabbage casserole.
