Once, due to the accident at the Atomic Power Station, the city of Groveland turned into a zone unsuitable for life. The level of radiation affected the body almost instantly - the average radiation background for years kept at around 200, which is a critical indicator. Groveland was abandoned for many decades, only stalkers and adventurers with the necessary equipment visited it for a short time.
Recently, one of these stalkers noticed a malfunction in the radiation meter. It seemed that the device was faulty, but after checking it turned out that in a mysterious way the radiation level in Groveland had completely normalized.
This was the beginning of a new life for the exclusion zone.
The authorities willingly organized restoration work, placing high hopes on New Groveland - an influx of tourists into the amazing ghost town, which suddenly came to life, breathing again. Each visitor to Groveland (temporarily or permanently) is allocated a recently restored house, a small plot of land and complete freedom of action. Now the population of New Groveland is small, but each of the citizens had good reasons to come and stay here. Someone decided to escape from old life forever, someone is finally happy to have their own small area away from the densely populated metropolis, someone is eager to unravel the secrets of this mystical city. New Groveland needs carpenters, restorers, architects, landscape designers, and any citizens who are ready to breathe new life into the city.
Cafes and shops are slowly opening. The population increases over time.
The climate in Groveland is surprisingly always pleasant. Soft, sunny. There is never heavy rain or hail, even if the rest of the areas have unpleasant weather.
The city’s architecture is old, many buildings need demolition or urgent restoration. It is safest to live in small new buildings that are definitely not falling apart from old age. You can admire the abandoned buildings from afar, but do not climb inside - no one knows at what point the piles or columns can collapse. And yet, the structures seem dead, but solid.
