Backstory
“Lord Sal’khoz another one dragon egg was delivered at your command. Now we have everything for the ritual.” said the adept named Zordoq. He held in his hands a rather large egg with emerald spots.
“Well, let us hope that at least this time we will succeed.” Sal’khoz said
The powerful archlich rose from his throne. And there was a reason. Sal’khoz knew he could not cheat death forever. Eventually he will be no more but only memories. It is not difficult at all to corrupt human soul. He did it many times like the others. However, nobody even dare to do the same with dragon souls. It is not like to raise a mindless dragon skeleton. Archlich was on a verge of something new. Something that nobody done before. Sal’khoz and Zordoq walked along countless corridors in complete silence. Finally, the adept broke the silence.
“Your immortal nobility let me ask you a question. Why do we need so many eggs? How will we maintain so many dragons?” Zordoq asked.
“Do you think that out of a hundred, someone will survive? It will be a miracle if at least one survives.” Sal’khoz replied.
Without waiting for an answer, archlich entered the room filled with purple haze. The remaining four liches of rank below were already prepared in their places. Without many words Sal ‘khoz came up and took his place, forming a pentagram with the other 4 liches. He will not say any unnecessary words or fiery speech; recently such rituals have become for him no more than a routine. Sal ’khoz has already lost track of how many times it has been thought to drop this venture, not to mention the number of failed rituals. All the lower ranks left the room and went about their business; only Zordoq remained standing outside the door waiting. Hours have passed, usually the ritual is faster and the adept already began to lose patience and wanted to leave, when suddenly the door opened. Sal’khoz himself emerged from it, holding a purple dragon on a bony arm. From one glance at the lich, one could understand that if skin and muscles were preserved on his skull, he would certainly smile.
“Master, you did it.” Zordoq exclaimed without hiding his excitement.
“Yes” archlich replied.
“But shouldn't it be emerald-green?” the adept asked.
“ I have no idea what it should have been, but the fact that it is purple means that the ritual was successful. Now he is yours. In the end, you brought him here.” Sal’khoz replied
“It will be an honour for me. However, I thought you would be more interested to raise him on your own.” Zordoq said
“I were only interested to prove the whole world that it is possible. Just make sure my efforts will not be in vain. It took many efforts. Now I must return to my administrative duties. Report to me about everything related to this hatchling.” Sal’khoz replied.
He turned around and quickly left the adept alone in the company of little dragon
From birth, Vaaste was the pride of the necromancer guild. As the only dragon in his environment, he was treated with courtesy and attention. The fact is that necromancy was the basis of the magic of his soul. An unprecedented incident in his world. The direct connection of the soul with necromancy allowed him to master the dark arts at a monstrous pace. Any combat spell conjured by him was deadly and contained a large amount of dark energy. Unlike many others, dark magic almost did not hit Vaaste health. He could allow the use of monstrous amounts of energy with almost no side effects for himself. Dragon showed great interest in destruction magic. That interest soon became talent. Unfortunately, in occult matters everything turned out exactly the opposite. By the time other students could resurrect several skeletons at a time and even manipulate with souls Vaaste with great efforts could resurrect only 2-3 skeletons. As a dragon, he outgrew everyone in the guild to his youth. It allowed him to become one of the strongest and famous guild warriors.
Character description
Vaaste is a 2.6-meter wingless anthro dragon a very strong physique. As a mage-warrior, he has to train, his body not less than magic abilities. He is something between a warrior and a sorcerer. Due to the exhausting and distorted nature of his magic, he cannot keep long fights. Because of the curse all the magic and all the spells that dragon uses somehow contain darkness, from which even Vaaste himself suffers. Therefore, his entire fighting style is quite simple. He tries to finish the battle as soon as possible. The equipment is a black robe with a gold edging and a hood. It has a leather bag with a couple of important scrolls like healing spells and unique sword.
Magic abilities
Dark flame.
The weakest spell. Vaaste releases cursed violet flames from his hands it beats relatively weakly, but does not require a lot of casting power. It is usually used against the weakest opponents or to test the opponent's skills.
Lightning.
One of two main long-range spells. Vaaste concentrates and, after about 0.5-1 seconds, releases lightning from any point in space. Usually right behind or on the side of the enemy.
Clots of darkness.
The main battle spell. Vaaste releases from the fingertips of one of his hands up to 5 rapidly flying clots of darkness exploding upon contact. The spell requires a lot of magic and concentration. It works perfectly with telekinesis. It provides Vaaste to aim his this projectiles in any direction.
Spikes.
Extra battle spell. Having concentrated on a certain area, Vaaste conducts a series of gestures, releasing spikes from the ground at a certain point in the area (the number, sharpness and size of the spikes are not fixed and depend on the applied force).
Telekinesis
Vaaste has telekinesis, but does not like to use it, because the spell does not justify itself in the ratio of mana spent on the effect obtained. In addition, infects all living objects with darkness. No, it will not work to kill enemies but it is enough to make an apple inedible. So telekinesis is usually used to stop objects of small mass and send them back. In critical situations, the dragon can lift or stop the body weighing up to 400 kg, while losing almost the entire mana.
Teleportation.
Focusing for a few seconds on a clearly visible spot, Vaaste can teleport to that spot.
Wings evocation
Vaaste has a wing shape tattoo on his back. It allows him to evoke magic wings. It do not give him the same mobility in the air as natural wings but that wings may be used as a magical shield.
