Granted, I don't know much about gas masks, ha. I'm just extrapolating from whatever few pictures of antique gas masks I can find.

Well, most antique ones have filters in either a backpack or satchel or something similar, with a hose running to it. Which could look pretty cool for this too. As far as I know, integrated filters are fairly new.

Oh god yes. Boneshaker is like the most amazing book ever.
AND it's set in Seattle, where I live, so I can go like "HAHA I know where the characters are."
