Mêir [Shapeshifter Species Info]
It's long overdue that I show off my furry shark: Mêir
They're a deviation from a standard manokit, more anthro and upright but also some other things. I actually thought of some traits for my own Shapeshifter species, which is what this one here is.
In technicality, they're not actually a manokit but that's their chosen form. I still have yet to make a reference for what these kinds of shapeshifters would look like in a "default" form, but I have compiled a some facts of what the species is:
- Any exposed flesh (Paws, Skin, Tongue, donut) as well as internal parts are sparkly and reflective with a slight tint of a color that sticks with them for their entire life.
- They can mimic the shape of anything they can see or imagine, but their colors or appearance will stay the same. (i.e, Mêir turns themself into a tiger, but their fur would remain white, stripes would be black, and the orange fur would be light blue.)
- Touching a living creature and taking a sample of their cells (or their entire body) allows them to replicate their form seamlessly in their perfect form. For example, someone has scars and the shifter records the DNA in their cells. The shifter can then mimic them without those scars. If they actually absorb them entirely, they can choose whether or not to have those scars.
- As for absorption, yes, the shifter can completely and utterly consume another creature by taking them into their body. The shifter however, can choose to do a variety of things other than that, such as merging or assimilation. Basically they can do anything that involves the manipulation of cells, which brings me to the actual makeup of their body.
- These shifters are basically a bunch of walking goo, and they can create necessary organs in their body when they're needed, and can repair/separate parts of themselves as needed. Their collection of cells is all connected to one core, which can be in any part of their body. It's normally about the size of a baseball. They still have a brain though, which contains the identity and personality, all the thinking parts of any organism. The core has some basic instructions that tells the body to repair itself, so if the brain is damaged, it will cripple them until it is repaired.
- The shifters have essentially an indefinite lifespan, but their cells don't. The core will manipulate exterior cells to fit into itself while recycling the old ones out in the body. As long as they can absorb new cells, they can live as long as they want.
Still have yet to name them, I had some idea for their name a while ago but I forgot it. :<
If you're actually interested in making one of these shifters, let me know, I wanna see :) (Or you could commission me to draw it, haha. The traits are more of guidelines, not rules.)
I'll eventually make a reference page for them... eventually
Closed species are silly.
