The fact that he would look you in the eye while scenting his tree is so incredibly territorial. and they have such power in their eyes. I remember I was feeding lions once, It was my self a two other girls I work with in this 6ft wide walk way between two lion fields. This male lion stood and stared at me. he did't move a hair and was completely fixed one me. I was told he did that because I am a male and was with two females on his ground. Having a lion stair at you from 15ft away with just a chainlink between the two fence is quite the experince.
