The dogbomb sports his L.A. marathon bib. I completed the course today in 4 hours 9 minutes and 8 seconds. I was shooting for under 4 hours but the running gods kept that just out of reach.
I finished 3,041st out of 25,000.
The course was amazing the the crowds were raucous. I wore my ears and my furry T-shirt, but I had to ditch the hadpaws due to heat. Two different spectators yelled out "go furry" and everyone was cheering and woofing as I went by. I wanted to hug them all because that kind of encouregement really helps in a long race.
My support crew was awesome, meeting me at miles 7, 16 and 20 with fresh drinks and snacky bits. Thank you Don, Maggie, Greg and Steve for all the cheering and help. I could not have done it without you guys.
Now all I have to do is collect from my sponsors and present the final check to my favorite dog rescue group. It looks like we raised $3850 in total.
It was a great run and I have mixed feelings about it being over. It's good that I have FWA to look forward to next week... Those Hurricanes are gunna' taste good!
And did you notice Dogbomb's jaunty new whiskers?

4 hours is a long run. i would run if i had time to. i just need to start running, i will do it some time in the future. sense you seem to have so much fun doing it, i thought indulging in a bit of running would be a nice change to my life.
so not only did you raise money for a noble cause, but you have started someone on the bath of running. i don't think i will be doing any marathons just yet, need to get started a bit before i take on such challenges as you have.

*waggwaggwaggwagg* Oh what lovely new whiskers!!! I am glad you did so well in your race! What a nice cash infusion for the dog rescue group too! *hugs* What a fantastic cause! You are so special for doing what you do to benefit those who need it most! I am sure Rud and Mag are so proud of you! I bet Rud would run the marathon with you if you let him! That is fantastic about you running with your furry garb on too! GO FURRY! *hugs*
I am glad you like the new whiskers!
And thank you so much for the kind words.
I'm hobbling around a bit today but it
was worth doing.
And yes, I'm sure Rud could do a marathon.
He's probably pull me the whole way.
Magnolia, not so much; too many snacky bits
being handed out...
