A single day on ebay shows about 2 dozen 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Aires for $10,000 or less, more than half in streetable condition as is. If you have 5k to spend, there's 15 available, looks like 6 of them drivable with little to no work.
While there are many more Chevelles online, the 57 Chevy is by no means a rare car, or an expensive one. Especially if you're willing to do a bit of work yourself.

I don't have space/time/money for a project car and its been quite sometime since I really looked into getting an old car. Maybe things were different back then or maybe I wasn't looking in the right places. I know they are still a pretty rare find in my neck of the woods.
