So here’s a concept I’ve been cooking up for a little bit now.

Its a story about a lone Slugcat who comes across an orphaned Slugpup (or Slugkitten??) and becomes their surrogate mom. She does everything she can to ensure the baby’s health and safety, warding off enemies and feeding them both.

I think it would bring something interesting to the table in terms of gameplay. You gotta feed yourself AND the baby while also keeping track of them (you can either hold them in your arms which will allow you to not lose track of them but you can’t hold anything else or have them hang onto Slugcat’s back but their grip isn’t very strong so you have to be careful with your movements... Or maybe you can put the baby down briefly if you need to bait something away). I’m not entirely sure what the endgame would be. Maybe trying to find a safe place for the baby to grow and thrive at any cost by running around the world. Possibly finding iterators who do not know how to raise a child but they do want to help (or do they?).

I dunno. I think it would be fun! Making the game harder than it already is while also making the game emotional in a different way.
