Xera was once a worker-class Axoltzyn, and a particularly bright-minded scholar. Her particular interest was keeping the older traditions of their race alive in the space-faring age, to the point of having a reputation for superstition. She was born with latent psionic abilities, which she dubbed a form of 'magic' according to historical myths that describe similar phenomena. Remarkably, she ended up becoming a monarch after attempting the coronation ritual, despite candidates most often being selected from the warrior caste. Her superstitious nature has grown with her since then, and she uses her authority to further 'research' anomalies and whatever unknown advancements she can get her claws on (a considerable amount given she can either buy, steal or otherwise procure them in whatever way she desires). Her psionic abilities have also been notably amplified by her transformation, which is a useful tool to interact with the "fine details" of the smaller world around her.

Personality-wise, she is quite enthusiastic and energetic, always finding herself with things to do that fuel her passions. She isn't malicious in her pursuit, but definitely single-minded and prone to not noticing the destructive ramifications of her research or travel, or not care about the aftermath of snatching up a new subject of study. She is prone to being scatterbrained, often moving from one interest to the next and passionately rambling to herself, head (literally) in the clouds.
