My remix to the route in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire where you collect ash for the guy to build you stuff you don't need. You know, the one with waaaay too many Spindas and that occasional Skarmory that you could never catch? Yeah, you know the one.
When I first played, I didn't realize you were supposed to collect the ash off the grass, and I was just collecting the minute ash that fell from the sky. Needless to say, I spent A LOOOT of time hearing this tune.
Original Composers:
Junichi Masuda
Go Ichinose
Morichi Aoki

I use programs to create MIDI files, and sometimes look at the notation within existing MIDIs and perform them, and sometimes I just modify the existing MIDIs... and then I remix them and use a program that will assign the notation within the MIDIs sound clips of real instruments being played that will adjust the pitch of them accordingly to match the notation. :)
I'll do the Celadon City and Route 1 music for you sometime.

In my experience, the software involved is actually pretty straightforward to use until you get into the more advanced features. If you want to talk about complicated, have a look at FastTracker and its kin.
Actually being good at using the tools is another thing, and that's what separates a musician from folks like me.

Oh yeah, and what I forgot to mention in the comment above: I can't speak for the original song, but your arrangement here is reminiscent of a game called Aquaria that you may or may not be familiar with. That's a compliment, of course—I love that game.
Mac version here for those who need such things.

I'm glad you like it. ^^ I'll check out that Aquaria game too. :)
The music in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire was the best out of all the Pokemon music so far, in my opinion. I think most people would agree though. There are other various arrangements I did of other Ru/Sa music in my gallery if you want to hear some. :)
