90 sSlice of Life Concept Characters
So I'm not sure if I shared this here but this is a concept for another one of my little side projects I want to maybe turn into a animated series someday and the concept is a slice of life story that takes place in the 1990s. I'm still debating on what year I want to set it in as it's a toss up between 1995 and 1997. The story is about a group of young adult friends living their lives and getting into shenanigans while trying to navigate their lives. I'm still working on their names though for the girl on the right hand side, her name is Kiminka though she prefers to be called "Kim" or "Kimi" for short. But that's really all I've got worked out so far. I'm looking forward to working more on this in the future. Anyway just thought I'd share :)

Why the 1990s as opposed to the present and will it eventually reach the present? Like at the very end or further down the line?
I'm typically about the present since it's the time I'm in, thus the most relateable. Plus it answers the questions of what's happening now. I mean you don't have to go "This series takes place in the past, what is the setting of it like now?" because it would already take place in the present.
I do know at least some reasons of being in the past for example "Everybody Hates Chris." takes place in the 1980s cause that's when the creator of the show was growing up. The show was basically an autobigraphy which I thought was cool. Before then I thought "Why the 80s? What was cool about that 80s?"
I was dumber back then I mean there are tons of cool things about any time period plus this was before I knew why it took place in the 80s. Anyways, I digress though.
Those are my thoughts hope I'm not saying anything wrong.
Also I gotta say Kiminka has really got it going! Those clothes, that pose, that style, everything!

I chose the 1990s because I like that decade. I liked the music, fashion, the further experimental style of CGI, and jut how it really was the last decade before the internet became a very big thing of daily life. I mean it's like the show That 70s Show. I didn't live in the 70s as I was born in '91 but I still enjoy the show and liked the whole 70s feel it had.
