You know. This curse never ceases to throw me off my game. One minute, I'm having a nice cuddle up with that Fatgum guy. And now, I'm freezing my ass off in the cold city. I looked around and saw people running through the snow, all bundled up. That's when I noticed something off. Some of the people bundled up and running around weren't human. There we're some wolves, large demon creatures, and angels. Literal angels. My mind must have been receiving one heck of a brain freeze, cause I didn't even notice the huge column of light piercing the sky. It looked to cover the radius of maybe, 40 miles. The white light with the winter air so chilly, gave it a Christmas feel to everything. Now, all I needed was some hot chocolate. As if I summoned the dang thing, a cup of the stuff was being held next to me in a offering gesture. “You appear to need something hot, good sir,” said a silky smooth strong voice. I smiled, and looked up at him.
“Thanks so much! You're a lifesaver,” I said, wrapping my hands around the simple white cup. When I had reached for the cup, that was when I was surprised. The hand giving the cup wasn’t an actual hand. It was a paw. And it was big and thick enough to crush a person’s hands. I looked up to see his face, and my smile returned. Looking at me with a kind of interest in me with emerald green eyes, was a large, two legged white tiger. His soft looking snow white mane was what made up his beard, and his hair. The tiger man had his ears in front of the mane, the bright pink inside almost tempted me to reach up and rub them. For someone that was a tiger, he had the face and attitude of a gentle old butler in his early fifties. Did I also mention he was about eight feet of muscles. But all those rippling muscles were covered up with a brown trenchcoat. The inside of the coat had a lair of red just under it. And some fancy looking butler like clothes. I sipped the warm liquid, feeling it slowly warm me from the inside. I sighed in pleasure. The old cat smiled, like he gave something to his own kid and they loved it. The lion rose to his full height, the monocle in right eye reflecting the image of me sitting.
“Come now. You'll catch death of cold. Let us return to my home and we can talk more there,” said the calm voiced lion, his hand out like he was waiting for me to grab it. That's what I did.
The entire trip, was quiet. Like if any of us even thought of talking, we were gonna break this world. That was when he stopped walking. We stood in front of probably the biggest skyscraper I’ve ever seen in my life. The building was painted black, and the window felt more dark blue than see-through blue. The lion proceeded inside the building, his thick white tail slowly moved side to side, the fuzzy end almost looked like it was drawing a line with itself. My body was freezing outside, but it changed to heating up when we walked in. It felt like someone had the sun on a automatic timer, nearly burning me where I stood. But we didn't stop. When we did though, we waited in front a pair of gold doors. He didn't even press a button, but the doors opened regardless. He strutted inside, and I quickly dashed to his right side. The doors closed in front of us, leaving is alone. I was about to ask which button did he want to press, but he put his right finger in the air. From the end of it, out came a single black claw, looked maybe 7 inches long. He quickly proceeded to shove the nail into the keyhole above all the buttons. The black sliver fit perfectly inside, to which he turned his finger like a key. The wall with the buttons shook violently for exactly three seconds. Then, it stopped. The elevator made a sound that caught me off guard. Ding. The sound meant we arrived, but we didn't move. The doors slid open slowly, and my jaw dropped. Although the elevator didn't move, we were in someplace new. A wide open loft area, with an incredible high point view of the city on the balcony. The loft itself was what people expect from a rich person’s secret retreat. The walls were light gray tiles, and navy blue carpet. The loft itself was about the size of a mansion’s living room. In the middle of the area was one of circular couches that made an incomplete circle. The center of the circle had a one of those fancy, Rick surfaced coffee tables, black with streaks of white randomly mixed in. I looked back to the host, who was actually removing his brown coat, to place it on a coat hanger that I didn't even know was at the entrance of the elevator. Or at least, where the doors were. Now, a panel of wall covered the way. My mouth was still opened since I walked out of the elevator. The lion looked over at me, as he unbuttoned his butler coat.
“This room is only accessible by my fellow guild mates. Once entered, only a member can get out,” said the guy that I seriously believe is a butler. After he unbuttoned his suit coat, and hung it on the other side of his brown coat. He walked over to me, and placed his right index finger under my chin. “You'll catch bugs like that. C ome,” he used his finger to shut my mouth close, “there's something I wish to talk to you about.” He removed the lime green tie he had around his neck and placed it nicely on the top of the gray circle couch. He sat on couch, upright to look at me as I slowly walked over to sit across from the guy. I didn't know how to feel about a butler, who looked so muscular in a violet blue dress shirt. The way he looked at me made feel flustered. Like he was undressing me down with only his eyes.
“So what kind of world did you come from, young man?” he said, breaking the ice. A cold sweat ran down the side of my face. Was he a mind reader? Was else can he see?
“What do you mean?” my worse at a calm voice. The lion glared at me with those eyes of his.
“You see, ever sense that light touched down here, people and creatures have been coming into this world through that light pillar,” he explained, turning to look outside on the balcony. I looked in the sane direction, and saw what he meant. That pillar from before was big, Otherworldly even. “That's why creatures like myself, and those you saw earlier, are running around.” I looked over to him, his gaze fixed back to me. It caught me off guard, and I may have let a little yelp escape me. The lion closed his eyes, and rose to his feet, looking at me as he opened his eyes once more. The lion looked down at, like he was prowling his next meal. “My master felt a unique presence unlike anything that has been brought here to this world. He asked me to investigate, even though this was my only day of the month I get off.” He was walking over to me, cautious, like I may lunge to kill him. “He told me where to find it when it arrived. And here you are.” He got on the couch again, only he was on his hands and knees. As well as closing the three foot gap between us. Before I could even begin to move away, he grabbed me by the ankle, and pulled my entire body under his own. My feet stopped just barely passing his knees while he grabbed both of my wrists. I could hear the sound of a growl in his throat. “My master is right of course. You are unique. Those summoned by the pillar or a summoner have a distinct smell. But you smell different,” he lowered his head and I felt his big, cold, pink nose as well as his whiskers on the left side of my neck. I felt him sniffing me, like he’s sampling a candle. He sniffed again, longer even. He sniffed the left side of my head, and he stopped moving his head right over my ear. “So,” he whispered, “Who are you?” the way he spoke in my ear was overwhelming me. My breathing was shallow, fear taking over me. Or was this excitement. I spoke into his ear closest to my face.
“I'll tell you what I can,” I said, whispering. “But please, get off me.” He pushed down on my wrists, in a way to push his upper torso into the air, and off me. He removed himself off the couch entirely, and fixed his shirt collar. “Well, I'm delighted to hear this. I shall prepare some tea,” said the lion, composed like nothing happened. I shook my head, and got back into my sitting position.
In a manner of minutes, he came back with a silver tray, holding two cups that were colored like royalty. The blue, yellow and white cups steamed with the contents. He placed the platter on the table in the middle of the couch area. He proceeded to grab one of the cups, and held it an inch away from his lips.
“So,” he said to me, “Where did you want to start?” he took a sip from his cup. I looked at the green liquid surface in the cup.
“I’ll be completely honest from the start.” I said, and reached for the cup handle. But as soon as I grabbed the handle, the cup shook in my fingers. I moved the cup over to my lap, barely dropping a small drop on the floor. “My name is Al. And I can't tell you what my world is like. For I have had my memories taken from me,” I said, not even looking him in the eyes as I talked. The butler looked at me with eyes of concern. “But, I can answer your question about why I'm different. The thing is,” I looked away from my cup that sat on my legs, and looked towards the pillar of light. “I didn't come to this world through the pillar. I was cursed, flung from world to world with no end in sight.” I placed the cup back on the platter, calmly this time without a single drink. I rose to my feet, and walked towards balcony. I stood in the doorway that separated the room to the outside, and stared towards the light. I could feel the butler’s eyes still aimed at me, but no longer concern filled them. “I have seen eight different worlds now with this one. And to make it harder, with no memories to fall back on or to comfort.” I gripped my arms tightly while they were still crossed. I heard the lion rise to his feet and walk over. I felt his body press into my back, and his thick arms covered my torso in a hug. He placed his head on top of my own, smelling like spring.
“I'm sure my master will want to meet you. For tonight, you can sleep here,” he said, a low rumbling coming from his throat, which I am convinced is him purring. I moved one of my hands towards his face, and immediately felt his face rubbing hard into my palm.
After our little moment on the balcony, we actually realized that it was actually night time already. Either time flew by in this world, or we were enjoying each other’s presence. I took off my black and blue high top shoes and laid on the couch. The butler was unbuttoning his dress shirt as he head to what I assumed was his room, when he looked over to where I was laying. He peeked over the top of the couch, looking me in the eyes, while his shirt barely exposed his thick pecs.
“Why are you laying there, if you don't mind my asking,” he asked me, puzzled by this event.
“I'm assuming you don't have a spare bedroom.”
“Well, no. I don't.”
“So if that being the case, it is best summarized that since I am the guest, the couch or floor, is where I’m sleeping for the night.” The cat stared, one eyebrow higher than the other when I said this.
“Out of the question. Those locations are for barbarians,” he said with adamant seriousness. He grabbed the back of my neck and behind my knees, and lifted me up with ease, almost holding me like an infant. “As my guest, I must insist you sleep with me tonight,” he looked straight in my eyes. My cheeks blushed. He carried me into his room, and dropped me onto, what I think is a royal purple, king sized bed. He walked over to a nearby dresser, and resumed the removing of his Shirt. Didn't take long, for he only had three buttons left before he grabbed me. The moment he finished with the buttons, it almost looked like his shirt flew right off his white furred body. His body almost looked like it woke up, as the muscles on his entire torso shivered slightly. He unbuckled the belt he had on, and pulled it right out of the loops like it was a string to start spinning a top. I think I even saw faint smoke coming from the pants. He dropped the belt that he held in his right hand. I heard the sound of a pants button being undone, followed by a zipper. I then heard the sound of something dropping to the floor, which I assumed were the pants. In my line of sight from the bed, I could make out two moons with a shining baby blue line no wider than two fingers against each other. I suddenly realized those we're his butt cheeks. But the blue threw me. Was that a bright blue Speedo he was wearing? To answer my question, the overly muscled lion turned towards me, and moved his feet around, must be taking his shoes off. From there, he slid his body underneath the bed sheets, and popped up next to me. You know, he was kinda cute without his monocle, and his clothes. He looked good in both, but I'm like him this way. I could feel his body pressing against my own, like somebody put rocks and meat inside a bag of fur. He smiled as he placed his large paw over the side of my face. “Let's rest. Tomorrow, you'll meet my master.” Said the lion, like a teen hiding their date in the room from the scary parents.
“If he's your master, this will be an interesting person,” I said back in the same tone. “Alright, night Mr. Lion butler.”
“My apologies,” he said, a gasp escaping his lips. “As a butler, I should've introduced myself when we first met,” the cloud white fur around his face started to redden. “Snow. My name is Snow.”
“Snow,” my hands placed itself over his back, pulling my entire body towards his. I was now being held in shock by the flustered lion. “Glad to meet you,” my face was nearly buried in his pecs as I managed that out before falling asleep. I could feel one of his paws petting my short hair. Followed by a kiss in that area. We both fell asleep in each other’s arms.
What happened later that night caught me off guard. As did Snow’s.
Snow awoke to the sun rays through the Windows. He mumbled and groan as he threw the sheet off his body. He sat upright on the ledge of the bed, exposing his teeth and his fleshy tongue as he yawned. But as he went to scratch his gut, his hand hit something. His eyes shot opened as he saw his new belly. It was four feet big, with his muscles still intact on the surface. He looked over to where he had his guest sleeping, but only saw the pair of glasses that were removed when he slept. Dread filled Snow’s heart. The lion rose hastily to the shower to ready himself quickly. As he closed his eyes while hit with the barrage of hot water, it slowly came to him.
There was something about the boy that the lion couldn't figure out. When he sniffed him earlier, he smelled of freshly baked cookies. Snow’s favorite snack. Even when they were sleeping, that smell flowed into his nose. Without even realizing it, snow opened his mouth. He remembered the flavour of the boy as his smoothly moved inside the beasts mouth. He felt the breathing in his throat that came from his prey as he slept soundly. The lion even reminisced how simple and clean it was sliding the human in mere moments as he was moved more into the sleeping beast. The stretched opened mouth. His tongue licking underneath and over the boys clothing. Even the feeling of his stretched bulging neck that welcomed the meal into his belly with grace. The presence that grew inside the deepest part of his body was so satisfying. Snow purred as he felt his meal move ever softly inside his new home. At least, that's what he remembered. As he covered his gut with difficulty, he felt no movement inside him, only the sloshing that remained of the digested meal.
After an hour of pure sprinting, Snow arrived inside the office of his master.
“Excuse me, my master.” Snow said to the turned around spinning chair. A voice boomed.
“Ah Snow! So did you take care of that errand we mentioned last time?” the heavy man voice spoke.
“I did master. I found the source of the presence you described.”
“Excellent! Bring him forward.”
“Yes. About that Sir…” Snow approached the left side of the chair, and produced the glasses left in his room from his coat pocket. The man groaned in frustration, and grabbed the glasses with his right hand. But placed his left on his butler’s new belly.
“I see. I understand the situation.”
“Please. Forgive me.” Snow bowed his upper torso.
“There was nothing you could do. It was beyond your power to stop it.”
“I don't understand, Lord.” He was still bent down.
“This is the power of the curse that had been placed by the despicable Wolf.” What was a calm voice now slowly filled with anger. “The boy is cursed to be eaten wherever he appears. And digested away to another world. There is no entertainment to be found!” Flames slowly rose from the chair. “I had hoped to attempt to free the boy from this curse. But it was too late.” The flames slowly subsided, till they were all gone. “We must be prepared, should he return to this world.” He handed a object to snow, who finally stopped bowing. The lion looked at the object the man like creature that was his master, had given him. It was a silver ring. Nothing grand, just a silver band that was about two inches tall with a three inch hole. “This will help us keep him in this world till he is freed. Be sure he wears it.”
“My darling Master. If you don't mind me asking, why do you wish to help this boy?” asked the confused butler.
“There is a reason that damn Free went after him. He knew the boy’s hidden power. One that has not yet awoken. One He fears.” The air stood still in anticipation of the answer. “When he is freed, I will make him a part of our guild. With such power, not only the other guilds, but even the gods will fear our strength!” Laughter filled the room. But honestly, all snow did while his master was ranting, was hold onto the ring in one hand. And his newly grown stomach, in the other.
