Tark attempted to imbue his hand-crafted glaive with the core of his ancestor’s legendary weapon. The ritual failed, the weapon shattering into hundreds of fragments. However, Tark could still feel a connection to the core of the weapon. At dusk, on the outskirts of the town, he summoned his reborn glaive. It thundered down from the sky in a ray of golden light, the impact having left the blade embedded in a small crater just a few feet in front of him. The new glaive looked similar to his old one but with a few...significant differences.
This commission was a birthday gift by a client of mine to his brother, and Tark is a relative of an older character I got to illustrate for that person.

The lines work so naturally with the way you color, it always makes me stop and stare a bit longer at such pieces of yours. May I ask if you use a scanned drawing as a base? Asking, because the strokes have this fantastic, organic flair to them, that I personally find hard to emulate digitally. Great job!
Thank you.
Your guess is entirely correct, this piece is traditionally inked. The colorless version can be found on my artstation if you are interested to see how it looks without the digital touch.
