“Remember, you have to remember.”
The dapple gray unicorn raced across the windswept grassy fields. The tall grass whipped painfully across his face and tangled in his white mane, pulling at it as he galloped as fast as he could, gasping for breath.
All the while a shadow followed almost silently through the grass. A huge black-furred form cutting through the overgrown pasture as easily as a fish through water. The huge, muscular back poked over the waving stalks like the dorsal fin of a shark as it crept swiftly after it’s prey.
Dr. Lithotome’s lungs were burning for air. He wasn’t used to keeping up a gallop for any length of time as he spent most of his days behind a desk or seeing patients. He almost wept with relief as he saw a sturdy looking wooden shack at the edge of the field. Charging towards it, he yanked open the door and threw himself inside. Luckily for him, this seemed to be a storm shed, designed to be barred from with inside. Pulling the door shut, he used his magic to drop the heavy wooden bar in place, locking the door from within.
“Oh doooooctooooor…” A gravelly voice called from outside, a mocking sing-song tone to it.
The doctor looked around the shed for something to arm himself with as his mind flashed back to the horrifying transformation his patient had undergone. He had seen curses before, but nothing like this.
“Doctor, I am disappointed in you. You were supposed to help.”
Lithotome tried to catch his breath, still panting as he answered, “Red Line. I know you can hear me.”
Dark laughter came from the voice outside, dry and rough like someone rattling a box of old bones.
“Remember, you have to remember!” The dapple gray hoisted a pitchfork, the blue glow of his magic brightening the room and casting it in a eerie light. "You came to me for help. Let me help you, Red Line.“
The voice goes quiet for a while, then softens a bit. "I… remember….”
The doctor trots closer to the door as the voice is softer and more distant.
“I remember, Dr. Lithotome. I remember…”
The doctor’s eyes went wide as he heard the sound of running paw steps and was deafened by an earsplitting crash. He was flung across the shed as the heavy wooden door exploded inwards sending splinters and shards of wood flying through the air. The silhouette of the huge black wolf his patient had transformed into completely filled the doorway. A single amber eye glowed from within that shadow like a burning ember. His voice was a low, rolling rumble as he slowly closed the distance between himself and the doctor.
“I remember how hungry I am….”

Red Line is Victor's real name. His talent is actually his running speed and he used to be a secret courier for the royalty before everything went south. He was also a skilled doctor, however, which was a perfect cover. Who would suspect their primary care physician of tearing down the railroad tracks like the Flash to deliver an important message to the ruler of a neighboring country? XD
