this is the very first picture i ever drew of Cujo way back when Will and i were just becoming friends and he asked me to draw him a character...or i deeply insisted i make him one Xd idr wich but...this is what i came up with.

the skull he wears is symbolic, wen we were just friends he wore a mask for all the world to see, pretended he was happy and puppetiered everyone else into thinking so. but im not dumb, i grew up in a school full of bullshitters and demonic liars, i know a mask wen i see one, in his 1st reference his face is shown without his mask(but he VERY RARELY would ever be seen without it) the skull also in a way refferences bleach, the "hollow skull" idea, because of his hollow and empty soulless shell.

the horns to represent his devilish attitude and the serpents tail to represent the darkness in his heart.

in later images he can be found with scars across his unshelled face and a scar over his hear(reprewsenting that he had opened up to a particular person *grins* and had finally let someone in. in later images still the scars grow smaller and thus more "healed" until his most recent ref, where no scars exist at all. this simply represents that i am the only person to truely be accepted so far into his heart that i myself have healed all his wounds and fears.
