For once, in my life, I thought I knew what fear looked like. The sky is torn asunder and we are under siege by that damned Tevinter Magister, but... This... Apostate, Kaine as he calls himself, causes fear. Our last mission, as a success as it was, showed me the true power of an apostate.
We found a staff within a cave, glowing red and sinister. He insisted we take it with us, said we could make use of it. I didn't agree, but I wasn't going against a mage.
Our squad was attacked by demons, too many for us to count, but they were... They didn't stand a chance. This apostate has the power to use two staffs, to bring forth extra power and destruction. Is this what has been hidden from us for so long? Are apostates truly this powerful?
This world, even if we repair the sky, is doomed.
