"The rat and mouse kingdom had always been at war, but when the rat princess and mouse prince fell in love, unifying the kingdoms with their marriage into the new kingdom of Rhodentia (rodent + rhodon, rose), it looked like things would have improved; especially when the happy couple had children, two beautiful little princesses.

However, peace didn’t sit well with the mice, who thought of rats as brutes who would have surely tried to grab all of their kingdom by force, or pollute their culture with their barbarian ones. So they decided to hits two birds with one stone: kidnapping the twin princesses, so that there would be no more heirs, and leave false clues to hint at the rats being behind the tragedy. The mouse prince was aghast, and the rat princess couldn’t believe her people capable of such, especially after finding contrasting clues left by the mice on accident (like their white fur). The two fought over who of their people could have been, ultimately splitting up their marriage and kingdom in spite of their love.

The two princesses, however, were not killed as the plan had originally entailed: the soldier with that heavy duty could just not bring himself to do it. Instead, he left them in an orphanage far away, where the twins’ fate would have been split forever.
Angelique, with her immaculate fur, was taken in by a wealthy family, but the family fell to debt and the girl was made to work in a fancy, upper-class brothel; Celestine, with a slightly more evident rat heritage in her appearance, was taken by a poor family, but managed to follow her dreams and become a ballerina.

The two will meet again one day, and when seeing their identical music boxes, will search for their true heritage."



...the above is not really top writing, but it's just copy-pasted from my brainstorming document xD It's not meant to be a story (I'll fledge that out when I have the time and energy), but merely a little snippet into my thought process to make you better understand these two ladies! c:

Anyways, meet Angelique and Celestine! I've had these two darlings since a while now, so I figured I'd finally share them in public ♥ You may remember them as designs I've kept from past adoptable batches (the art is exactly the same lmao) and boy, am I happy I did keep them ;w;
I really hope to be able to develop them more when I get the time, and get some pretty art of them! For now, I truly hope you like them ♥♥♥

(Angelique's wings are just a prop btw! They're tied to her back with her ribbons!)
