During my time in school I would spend weeks, if not months at a time on Blue Dragon. Not only does it have a good story and interesting game mechanics, but it’s soundtrack is one of my favourites! I think it even had it’s own anime series at one point, but back then I didn’t have as much interest in anime as I do now so I never got around to watching it.

During my first few playthroughs of the game (yes, I played through the whole game several times) I would often get stuck at certain boss fights, getting so frustrated at certain times that I, being the naive little gamer I was, would restart the entire game over again, thinking that, by some miracle, I’d beat the same bosses when i faced them again. Kinda of a dumb thing to do, but it at least allowed me to learn more about how RPG’s function; grinding for experience, being wise with consumables, teaching your party new skills and abilities etc. so I could play through the game properly.

Unfortunately my xbox 360 is long gone, so I don’t have any way to play the game anymore, but for anyone who does I highly recommend giving it a go. 👍
