I'm in love with the new Call of the Wild movie, so here's my first attempt at Buck.
I'm begging the folks in my audience who love cartoon dogs (I know you are out there if you follow me) to give this movie a chance - the cartoon doggery within is Top Notch.

I'm with you on this, I found myself cheering for Buck to absolutely DESTROY Spitz in that one scene ( 😂 ), but...honestly, considering it IS supposed to be a family adaptation, I thought they did the best job possible without straying from the book almost at all. I was SHOCKED at how close it stayed. I knew they'd have to change...some elements of the ending, and I was happy with how they figured out how to handle it, while STILL keeping that major thing that matters so much to the story!
(Staying vague for anyone who hasn't read the book or seen the movie!)
Disney did an adaptation of my favorite book, Big Red, and it was so far from the book the only things that stayed the same were the name of the dog and his breed. 😂 So I was braced for the worst, and maybe my expectations were so low, what I saw seemed very well done? It's possible.
