Ah yes, good 'ole percussive maintenance. On the first ship I was stationed on back in my Navy days, I had this one piece of electronics gear, a signal analyzer of sorts. Very detailed, very delicate. It had a funny problem though; every now and then the display screen would wig out and the text on the screen would jumble up and start scrolling sideways. I personally replaced every single component in that thing and nothing worked to fix it except for one thing; grabbing a 4-inch-thick hardcover technical manual that weighed about 5 pounds from the cabinet next to the SigAn and whacking the SigAN with it. Cleared the buggy display problem up instantly every time.

Iry (Ironside - the chakat ) would consider it to be the most romantic of stories.
