Here's the actual prequel to Can't You Read?. We see Toa and Tris out on the town, wearing cutesy matching t-shirts, when Toa stays behind as Tris fetches them ice cream. Then all of a sudden, a menacing figure approaches. Toa can be a formidable opponent in a battle, but her emotional stability is a bit iffy.

The background is just a tiny bit lazy. I don't know if this is news to anybody, but making comics takes big fucking effort, and I can't be assed to draw intricate backgrounds for 10 panels. Why use big picture when small picture do the job?
